Posted on 09 March 2010 22:49 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People says Iranian officials should prevent the damaging of the country’s natural resources.

March 6 is the national Arbor Day in Iran in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees.

Imam Ali Khamenei further said the reasonable use of natural resources would not cause damage to the environment as such resources can be revived by planting trees.

Leader calls for unity against cancerous Israeli regime

Posted on 04 March 2010 15:59 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Mustazafins(Opressed People) Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei, speaking on the merry anniversary of the birth of Islam’s Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), underscored the importance of the Palestinian issue for the Muslim world and called on Muslims to unite around the teachings of the holy prophet.

Imam Ali Khamenei described the “forged, Zionist regime of Israel” as a “dangerous cancer tumor” and insisted that “the only way (for Muslims) to defend against this severe cancer and its supporters is to return to Islam” and unite around the teachings of the glorious Prophet of Islam.

Addressing a group of Iranian officials and foreign guests and dignitaries in Tehran on Thursday, the Leader expounded on the reasons for numerous problems and shortcomings in the Muslim world in defending their rights and cited “tireless efforts by the US, the British, and other enemies of Islam in sowing discord” among Muslim masses.

The leader of the Islamic Revolution then emphasized that such bullying and domineering countries are well-aware that “discord and duplicity” can divert the focus of the Muslims from the very important issue of Palestine. “This is the reason that they resort to any possible means to flare the flame of ethnic, religious and geographic conflict among the hearts and minds of the Shia and Sunni, as well as the followers of other Islamic sects.”

Imam Ali Khamenei further spoke of Israeli oppression of the Palestinians, describing the occupation of Palestine as a wound on the body of the Islamic Nation.”

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Mustazafins also declared that “unity of Muslims and defending the Palestinian issue are among the aspirations and priorities of the Islamic Republic (of Iran).”

Recalling the words and priorities of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini regarding Muslim unity and the Palestinian issue, the Leader added, “The Islamic establishment, all of the country’s officials and the great nation of Iran view such principlist issues as religiously obligatory and their words (on these issues) have been and remain the same.”

Imam Ali Khamenei also expressed hope that Islamic governments, in tune with their people, would follow the eminent Prophet of Islam in efforts to bring unity among Muslims and to defend their rights, “especially in countering the cancerous, oppressive Israeli tumor and its supporters.”

Leader: Arrogant powers seek to tarnish Islam

Posted on 02 March 2010 17:35 by İslâmi Davet

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned against efforts made by arrogant powers to paint an unrealistic picture of Islam.

“Arrogant powers seek to introduce Islam as either a stone-aged or a liberal faith without any effect,” Imam Ali Khamenei said in a Tuesday meeting with the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the head of Iran’s Islamic Culture Organization as well as Iran’s cultural envoys to foreign countries.

“This is while the real Islam has great understanding about man, God, after life and the physical and spiritual needs of human beings,” the Leader said.

Imam Ali Khamenei stressed that the most important responsibilities of Iran’s cultural envoys were to portray a real and clear picture of the Islamic Republic, introduce Iran’s ancient civilization as well as the developments of modern Iran, and the spread and development of the Persian language and literature.

The Leader said only in this way could the arrogant powers be prevented from reaching their “inhumane purpose” which is to “depict a tarnished image of the Islamic Republic” and “culturally isolate” Iran.

Iran urges UN nuclear agency to retain independence

Posted on 01 March 2010 01:02 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Mustazafins warned Sunday that the UN nuclear watchdog would lose its legitimacy if it folds under pressures exerted by the United States over Iran’s nuclear program.

In a meeting with Iran’s foreign minister, ambassadors and senior officials, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Iran had declared from the beginning that the aim of its nuclear work was to develop the technology for civilian purposes, including energy generation.

The West has accused Tehran of seeking nuclear weapons in its pursuit. The allegation has yet to be validated by the UN nuclear watchdog, whose inspectors are monitoring Iranian nuclear facilities extensively.

“Propaganda and furor stemming from the West, including the United States, Britain as well as the Zionists, on [Iran's nuclear program] is absolutely bogus, and they know they are lying, and their opposition will not be in their favor,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Despite all their efforts, he said, Iran has made significant progress in its nuclear work and will continue its path to the point it deems necessary.

The Leader went on to criticize the recent direction taken by the UN nuclear body about Iran and said, “Some attempts and reports by the [International Atomic Energy] Agency proves that this international body is not acting independently.”

“The IAEA should not be under the pressure of the United States and some other countries since such unilateral moves will break trust in the agency and the United Nations,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. “It will also damage the reputation of such international bodies.”

The Leader also touched upon Iran’s approach towards global politics and said that the “anti-hegemony policy” is unique to the Islamic Republic.

“There are two sides in the hegemonic system; one is trying to control others and the other is controlled by the hegemonic power,” he said. “However, the Islamic Republic of Iran said from the beginning that it would not be dominant nor would it accept submission.”

The Leader stressed that unlike some revolutions the popular movement of the Iranians had not witnessed a decline since the starting days of the Islamic Revolutions.

“Which country do you know of that after 31 years, the participation of the people in its Revolution anniversary [ceremonies], not only does not decline but also sees a sharp increase?”

“The power and influence of diplomacy is no less than the power of military, propaganda and money, it is even greater in many instances.”

“Therefore, in order to implement the anti-hegemony policy, one must exercise a robust and practical diplomacy that is based on logic, reason and self-confidence.”

Leader sees Palestine independence as definite

Posted on 27 February 2010 17:50 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People said Saturday the Palestinians are the most resilient people in history who will “definitely and undoubtedly” see the freedom of their land.

Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei described the Palestinian resistance as an amazing phenomenon, which is driving Israel toward “defeat and annihilation.”

Resistance is what has untied different Palestinian movements as well as having faith in God, he said.

“And the supporters of the Zionist regime (Israel) will find nothing but shame and historic notoriety,” the Leader said.

He expressed deep gratitude to the Palestinian nation and said, “Bearing the atrocities and endless pressures in Gaza and throughout Palestine is impossible without the guidance and assistance of God and the Palestinian nation truly deserves to be named as the most resilient nation in history.”

Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei also touched upon the 22 day Gaza war and said the Arab governments claim that “the Palestinian issue” is an Arab one but when it comes to helping Palestinians, they left their Palestinian brothers unassisted in front of the enemy and its supporters.

The Arab behavior, he said, will go down in history.

Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the US president’s slogan of change was an attempt to repair the damaged image of Washington and said, “such dishonest attempts bore no fruit because the Americans blatantly lie in the issue of Palestine and other issues.”

“The Iranian nation has gotten used to these lies after 30 years,” he said.

The Leader said the Palestinian issue was a serious challenge for the Western civilization and advocates of liberal democracy, adding, “The resistance of the Palestinian nation has questioned the West’s multi-centennial claims of freedom and human rights and has disgraced [the West].

“‘The Palestinian issue’ has today become a criterion for determining the real advocates of ‘freedom and human rights’ from its deceitful claimants.”

Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the future America will have been defeated by the Palestinian nation.

“Without a doubt, the actions of the United States over the past 60 to 70 years in support of the Zionists will be remembered as an instance of this country’s dishonor in history.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed the importance of forming a new and “Islamic Middle East” and described defending the Palestinian nation as a humanitarian and Islamic responsibility.

He noted that Islamic governments have a greater responsibility regarding the issue of Palestine, since their nations have “awakened” and now demand more support for Palestine.

“Those who have overlooked the true and original path to the freedom of Al-Quds and Palestine — in other words resistance — have been forced to accept the conditions imposed by the enemy.”

“God willing, Al-Quds will return to the embrace of the Muslims and the people of the world and the resilient Palestinian nation will witness this great day,” the Leader concluded.

Leader: Islamic Iran roused Muslims, menaced powers

Posted on 26 February 2010 01:15 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Mustazafins(Opressed People) Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei reiterates that all Iranians must do their utmost to safeguard the Islamic establishment against plots hatched by arrogant powers.

The Islamic establishment has led to an awakening in the world of Islam and has endangered the interests of arrogant and oppressive powers in the region, said the Leader in a meeting with members of the Assembly of Experts in Tehran on Thursday.

“Therefore all people should do their utmost to safeguard and maintain the establishment and its pillars,” the Leader added.

Imam Ali Khamenei emphasized that the Islamic Republic has been founded on the Islamic principle of human dignity and popular consensus.

The revered Leader went on to underscore the point that the vote of the people plays a key role in Iran in light of such Islamic perspective.

“And for this reason the election in the Islamic Republic is a real issue,” the Leader added.

Imam Ali Khamenei also noted that unlike the self-styled democracies of the West, gangs of power and wealth do not influence decision-making on behalf of the Iranian people.

In the Islamic republic, people themselves make decision and of course, in some cases, the decision may be wrong, but since it is the people’s choice, one must submit to it, the Leader added.

Imam Ali Khamenei stressed that election campaigns in Iran take place within the framework of the Islamic establishment and anyone who infringes on such framework, that person is in violation of the regulations.

The Leader said those who have refused to accept the majority vote are no longer eligible to remain within the Islamic establishment.

“Those who refuse to obey the law and accept the will of the majority and attempt to portray such high point as the heroic 40-million-strong voter turnout in the election as a weakness, they, in effect, lose the eligible to maintain a presence within the Islamic establishment, as they have lost it,” Imam Ali Khamenei said.

Before the Leader’s speech, Chairman of the Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said Thursday’s meeting of the body was buoyed by the massive rallies marking the Islamic Revolution’s
anniversary on February 11th.

Leader: US enraged by Iran’s unity, resistance

Posted on 20 February 2010 13:05 by İslâmi Davet

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the US is enraged by the Iranian nation’s firm stand against the West.

The Leader said the remarks by the US president and other officials about Iran were another indication that the US had been disappointed by the Iranian nation.

“Outdated and absurd remarks, that Iran is building nuclear weapons, indicate that the enemies of the nation are continuing their propaganda [against Iran] in abject utter weakness.”

The Leader said the Iranian nation’s large turnout for the celebration of the victory of the Islamic Revolution rallies once again “frustrated and enraged the hegemonic powers, in particular, the United States.”

Imam Ali Khamenei added that the Iranian nation’s resistance to the West set an example for the generation to come of how to confront pressure by reliance on its own capability and a divine source.

The Leader said the Iranian nation will not be affected by allegations against its nuclear work, as it has asserted that Iran considers the proliferation of nuclear weapons “forbidden” and in direct opposition to Islamic belief.

Imam Ali Khamenei said that contrary to the West’s major campaign against Iran, we continue to “awaken the spirit of dignity in the whole Islamic Ummah as our nation’s efforts have led to the Islamic vigilance” among other Muslim nations.

The Leader also rejected outright the allegations that Iran was a threat to its neighbors, in particular the Persian Gulf littoral states.

“Our neighbors know well that these [allegations] are lies, which the US and Zionist regime are using to create division and divert the attention of the Islamic Ummah from their main enemies that are the US and the Zionist regime,” the Leader said in a ceremony to launch Iran’s advanced domestically-built destroyer, the Jamaran on Friday.

The Leader called on regional countries to join hands in restoring security to the region to foil the enemies’ plots.

Leader says Iran will never seek atom bomb

Posted on 19 February 2010 14:00 by İslâmi Davet

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Friday that the country neither believes in atomic bombs nor is it seeking to develop such weapons.

The Leader said the continuation of allegations by the West that the country is pursuing military objectives in its civilian nuclear program signals that the propaganda campaign against Iran has failed.

Iran has announced many times, he said, that its fundamentals and religious principles consider weapons of mass destruction as “illegal and haraam” — meaning forbidden and prohibited according to Islamic rules.

The West accuses Iran, a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), of seeking a nuclear weapon. Tehran, however, rejects the allegation and says its program is aimed at the civilian applications of the technology.

Iran in no way believes in an atomic bomb, and it does not seek one, Imam Ali Khamenei said.

The Leader made the remarks during the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s first domestically-built destroyer.

Imam Ali Khamenei praises high turnout of Iranians

Posted on 12 February 2010 01:09 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Islamic Ummah Imam Ali Khamenei has praised the high turnout of the Iranians in the rallies marking the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

“Friends and enemies of the Iranian nation should know that this nation has found its way and has taken its decision to reach the peak of development and welfare, and overcomes any obstacle which comes on its path,” the Leader said.

Imam Ali Khamenei went on to add that it’s time for the country’s foreign enemies to wake up and abandon efforts to subjugate the Islamic Iran.

“Trial and errors during the past thirty one years are not enough to awaken a few arrogant and bullying states to their futile efforts to dominate this Islamic nation?”

Imam Ali Khamenei made the remarks after millions of Iranians across the country took to the streets across the country to celebrate the 1979 Revolution which led to overthrowing the US-backed Pahlavi regime.

The Leader also asked whether the presence of tens of millions of people in the rallies could push internal enemies and dissenters to realize the path they have embarked on.

In the message issued late on Thursday, Imam Ali Khamenei thanked people for participating in the rallies.

Leader says Iran stands tall in face of threats

Posted on 09 February 2010 02:51 by İslâmi Davet

Ahead of the anniversary ceremonies of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, its Leader said Monday threats against Iran emanate from the enemy’s inability to comprehend the divine roots of the Islamic Republic.

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Opressed People Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei said the enemies of the country as well as the imperialistic and Zionist organizations are not capable to understand this reason and that is why they continue to threaten the nation.

“Today, there exists no system like the Islamic establishment in the world that can stand unshakably in the face of heavy, hostile propaganda, political and economic pressures and sanctions,” said Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei.

An annual march is scheduled for Thursday, February 11, when Iran commemorates the 31st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, which overthrew the Pahlavi regime — a US-backed monarchy which crumbled before the will of a popular uprising — and reshaped the political identity of the country.

Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei said the secret of the Islamic Revolution’s long-lasting stability is the people’s “reliance on God.”

“That is why whenever the people fear for the Revolution and sense threats and animosity, huge crowds of people, spontaneously and without convocation, take to the streets across the country,” the Leader said. “And that is what happened on December 30.”

Millions of people rallied on December 30 in response to the desecration of Ashura ceremonies — the holiest religious event in Islam — which was marred with anti-government unrests on December 27.

Iran has blamed the post-election riots on the West — particularly Britain, the United States and Israel — and foreign elements inside the country.

In early January, Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei hailed the December 30 rally and said “tens of millions of people rallied to defuse an intricate plot by the enemy.”

On Monday, the Leader said the grandeur of the rally was so impressive that the West could not hide its significance and had to acknowledge its occurrence.

“The magnitude and the presence of millions of the people on the streets on December 30 derived from God’s will and power,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. “Since the Islamic establishment is a divine movement, God defends it in such ways.”

Since Iran’s enemies cannot realize that they should not confront God’s will, the Leader said, they seek to employ “schemes such as human rights and democracy” to weaken Tehran. “However, the world’s public opinion disdains such tactics.”

“Those who cry for human rights are the ones who violate very basic human rights and approve torture in their prisons.”

“These democracy contenders are those who befriend and ally with the worst tyrannical and reactionary governments in the world, including in the Middle East and North Africa.”

When the people of the world compare their slogans with their actions, the Leader expounded, they realize that these claims are conflicting.

Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei added that world powers accuse Iran of not promoting democracy while 85 percent of the eligible voters went to the polls in the country’s June 12 presidential election.

The Islamic establishment’s lasting stability amid such global propaganda, the Leader said, proves that those inside the country who stood against the people’s will in the election are either puppets of the enemy or ignorant and they have nothing to do with the majority of the people.

Seyyed Imam Ali Khamenei called on the people to participate in the rally on Feb. 11 and demonstrate unity to astonish the United States, United Kingdom and Israel.

Leader: Israel moving in downward spiral

Posted on 07 February 2010 20:12 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Islam Ummah and Opressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Israel is moving in a downward spiral that will lead to its collapse.

“During its sixty-year existence, the Zionist regime (Israel) has become the symbol of evil, oppression and injustice,” the Leader added.

“I am very optimistic about the future of Palestine,” Ayatollah Khamenei told Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ramadan Abdullah in Tehran on Sunday.

The Leader said that Israel’s failure to take over the Gaza Strip after over two years of keeping the costal territory under blockade was similar to a “miracle” and added, “Although the regime benefitted from all kinds of financial and political support, it could not break the resistance of the Palestinian nation.”

Imam Ali Khamenei pointed to support of certain Arab states for Israel, saying, “Certainly, such efforts will bear no fruit because Muslim nations always support the Palestinian cause.”

The Leader expressed Iran’s full support for Palestine and described faith as the motive behind the Palestinians’ resistance against Israel.

Abdullah, for his part, touched on Israel’s aggressive policies in the region and said the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and resistance movements are ready to counter all “stupid” moves by the Zionist enemy.

Leader: Iran target of modern injustice

Posted on 02 February 2010 20:56 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Ummah Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the “negligence” was the main factor behind the country’s post-election violence in June.

“I am always optimistic, and that is why I believe that some of the recent unfortunate incidents have come about through negligence committed by some [people],” the Leader said on Tuesday.

Addressing a group of lectures from the prestigious Tehran University, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged academics to be vigilant as sometimes negligence may cross into the realms of betrayal.

The Leader also emphasized on the need to push for an accelerated academic progress towards scientific achievements.

He also reiterated on the need to develop programs and educational literature for the cultural and moral nurturing of college students.

In another part of his address Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei described “modern and armed injustice that is unobjectionable” as the “realities of today’s world” and added that the extensive and high-tech propaganda and the unrelenting plots against the Islamic Republic are among the indicators of the modern and armed injustices that are in existence today based on scientific knowledge.

The Leader then noted that the Islamic Republic has become the focal point of the enemy’s high-tech attacks because of its objections to such injustices.

In the meeting, the president of Tehran University enumerated the many achievements of the University since the victory of the revolution and noted that its standing among the world’s colleges has climbed 117 levels, placing it among the world’s 500 leading universities.

Leader meets Royan Institute researchers

Posted on 28 January 2010 20:23 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Ummah Imam Ali Khamenei emphasizes the use of science and faith as key to success in a meeting with a group of researchers from Iran’s Royan Institute.

The Leader said the secret to success for this scientific institute is the “precise identification of the problem and using the scientific knowledge and endeavor, motivated by faith, to solve the problem.”

The dean of the Royan institute, Hamid Gourabi Abraz, also briefed Imam Ali Khamenei of the latest achievements of the institute, namely the genetic cloning of animals.

Royan Institute researchers have inaugurated the first center for cell therapy, following their latest achievements in the application of stem cells for treating patients with cardiac arrest, chronic lower extremities ulcers, limbal stem cell deficiency, liver cirrhosis, and vitiligo.

Scientists at the research center have so far succeeded in cloning various farm animals, including a lamb named ‘Royana’, a goat named ‘Hanna’ and two calves called ‘Bonyana’ and ‘Tamina’.

Iran now stands among the few countries with the capability to clone farm animals.

Zionist regime will disappear one day

Posted on 27 January 2010 09:12 by İslâmi Davet

Leader of Ummah Imam Ali Khamenei says that Middle Eastern countries will witness the disappearance of Israel.

“Undoubtedly, the day will come when the nations of the region will witness the disappearance of the Zionist regime,” IRNA quoted Imam Ali Khamenei as saying during a meeting with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz in Tehran on Tuesday.

“Whether that day will be near or far depends on the actions of Islamic countries and Muslim nations,” the Leader added.

Imam Ali Khamenei stated that strengthening ties with Islamic countries is a pillar of Iran’s foreign policy and expressed hope that the Mauritanian president’s visit to Iran would enhance the level of ties between the two countries.

The Leader hailed Mauritania’s decision to sever ties with Israel and observed that the move could be a “good model for some Arab governments.”

Imam Ali Khamenei said that Israel is a “major threat to the Muslim world” because it is trying to dominate the region.

The Mauritanian president said that Iran’s scientific and technological progress makes Muslims around the world proud.

He also called for the expansion of ties between Iran and Mauritania.

Leader: US, Israel worst of all enemies

Posted on 26 January 2010 21:13 by İslâmi Davet

Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei described the United States and the “Zionist regime” as “the worst of all enemies of the Iranian nation,” insisting that their countless attempts at bringing down the Islamic Republic has been proven futile.

In a Tuesday address to a large gathering of Amol citizens, the Leader of Ummah reiterated that the timeworn conspiracies of some governments against Iran and its people ‘have failed to succeed.’

“The failure of these conspiracies is mostly because the Islamic Republic of Iran is now much stronger than before,” Imam Ali Khamenei said.

“But now [the Islamic Republic] is continuing its path with a much greater determination and growing momentum,” added the Leader.

Imam Ali Khamenei said in the years following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, certain individuals and groups existed who claimed to be intellectuals, advocates of people’s choices and of a democratic nature, but eventually ended up taking arms in confronting the very people who brought to power the Islamic establishment at a great cost.

“These political movements challenged the foundation of the Islamic Republic and thus caused a great deal of inconvenience at a time when the country was already at war,” said the Leader.

The Leader clarified that such movements were mostly comprised of individuals that were seditionists (members of the terrorist Mujahidin Khalq Organization), nonbelievers, westoxified figures, and even supposed acolytes.

Such individuals and groups, the Leader said, first protested the basic principles of the late Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Republic through intellectual rhetoric, and later gradually transformed the scene for thought and political struggle to a scene of armed struggle and rebellion, creating a great deal of trouble for the people and officials during the war.

Imam Ali Khamenei next highlighted the reliance of those who oppose the Islamic establishment on the enemy, reiterating that “in the past 30 years, the US government, the Zionist regime and global Zionism have emerged as the worst of all enemies of the Iranian nation; and even today they honestly are the worst of [our] enemies and reliance on these enemies is a huge blunder.”

“We must regain cognizance and if we have done wrong or committed an error, take corrective measures,” the Leader said.

The Leader said enemy conspiracies, particularly those by the American government, have failed to yield the desired results.

“The US officials say that they have passed a $45 million budget in an effort to bring down the Islamic Republic via the internet,” asserted the Leader.

“This demonstrates how desperate the enemy is, since they have so far spent tens of the $45 million to confront the Islamic establishment by means of diplomacy, sanctions, deploying spies, hiring mercenaries, and other ways, but they have achieved nothing.”

Referring to the post-election developments in Iran, the Leader said the enemy had originally contrived to provoke unrest and chaos in the country, but their evil plots instead awakened the Iranian nation.

The Leader was speaking at an event commemorating the people’s resistance against a terrorist uprising in the city of Amol some 30 years ago.

Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, nearly 50 armed elements of a small Maoist group called the ‘Communist Union” launched a calculated and planned attack on the city of Amol.

The rebels aimed to lay a military siege on Amol, but failed due to the vigilance of the people of the city.

Leader censures ‘domination order’ by the powerful

Posted on 22 January 2010 12:28 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Ummah stresses that the “greatest injustice to the international community is the dominance (sought) by powerful countries… and (their effort in) dividing nations into oppressive ones and submissive ones.”

Imam Ali Khamenei made the remarks in a Thursday meeting with Guyana’s President Bharrat Jagdeo in Tehran. “That is why the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been based on opposing the order of domination,” he noted.

The Leader emphasized, “Those nations that reject (foreign) domination and do exercise dominance are our friends, regardless of their race or language.”

Imam Ali Khamenei praised the people of Latin American nations for choosing politicians who seek independence from the western world.

He also said that Iran is willing to transfer its expertise in different fields to all friendly nations.

The Muslim community of Guyana and its membership in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) are other potential areas of cooperation between Iran and Guyana, the Leader added.

During the meeting, Imam Ali Khamenei also expressed sympathy for the quake-hit Haitian nation.

The Guyanese president, for his part, welcomed Iran’s active diplomacy in the Caribbean and Latin American countries.

Jagdeo expressed his country’s willingness to use Iran’s experience in different fields.

He added that Guyana possesses an independent policy despite its geographical proximity to the United states and it is ready to use Iran’s experiences in all fields.

Leader urges big turnout on Revolution’s anniversary

Posted on 19 January 2010 20:57 by İslâmi Davet

The Leader of Ummah Imam Ali Khamenei urges continued huge turnout in rallies on the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, reiterating today that Iran’s enemies will not be able to harm the Revolution and the nation even if they all unite.

Speaking at a gathering of officials from the Islamic Development Organization, ahead of the anniversary celebrations of the 1978 Revolution, Imam Ali Khamenei stressed that the Revolution will resist all plots as long as it relies on people’s faith and support.

The Iranian Leader called on the elite to adopt transparent positions with respect to the enemies and their plots in the country, adding that the presence of millions of Iranians at the celebration of the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution will foil enemies’ plots.

The Leader was referring to the annual celebrations marking the victory of the Islamic Revolution that ended the Iranian monarchy in 1979 and led to the establishment of an Islamic Republic in Iran.

The “ten days of Fajr (dawn),” as it is known in the country, refers to the anniversary of the period of time between the arrival of the late Imam Khomeini to Iran from exile, Feb. 1, 1978, and the day in which the revolution succeeded, 10 days later.

The Leader also referred to the December 27 riots in some Tehran streets, during which protesters damaged public property and clashed with security forces, taking advantage of a nation-wide focus on Ashura mourning ceremonies, marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, the third apostle of the Shia followers of Islam.

Imam Ali Khamenei described the overwhelming response by millions of Iranian demonstrators who took to the streets on December 30 to condemning the desecration of the Ashura ceremonies, as extraordinary and a landmark date in the history of the Revolution.
