Akarsular\u0131n kabar\u0131k devrelerinde sular\u0131n yataktan ta\u015fmas\u0131, \u00e7evreye yay\u0131lmas\u0131 &#8220;ta\u015fk\u0131n&#8221; olarak ifade edilir. Ta\u015fk\u0131n olaylar\u0131 \u00e7o\u011funlukla yatak e\u011fiminin az oldu\u011fu d\u00fczl\u00fck alanlar ve ovalarda g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr. Akarsu ak\u0131m\u0131nda ya\u011f\u0131\u015f miktar\u0131, ya\u011f\u0131\u015f \u015fekli ve kar erimeleri gibi iklim \u00f6zellikleri temel etkendir. Her ne kadar baz\u0131 kaynaklarda bunun nedeni olarak yer \u015fekillerinin sade olmas\u0131 g\u00f6sterilse de temel neden ortalama y\u00fckseltinin az olmas\u0131d\u0131r. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc, yer \u015fekillerinin sadeli\u011fi temel etken olsayd\u0131 hidroelektrik potansiyeli en d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck olan b\u00f6lgenin G\u00fcneydo\u011fu Anadolu olmas\u0131 gerekirdi. Zira yer \u015fekilleri en sade olan b\u00f6lge Marmara de\u011fil, G\u00fcneydo\u011fu Anadolu&#8217;dur. Bundan dolay\u0131d\u0131r ki G\u00fcneydo\u011fu Anadolu&#8217;da yer \u015fekilleri sade olmas\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131n Atat\u00fcrk, D\u0130cle, Kralk\u0131z\u0131, Devege\u00e7idi, Il\u0131su gibi hidroelektrik santralleri kurulmu\u015ftur.
