Kainattaki madde; G\u00fcne\u015f, gezegenler, y\u0131ld\u0131zlar, galaksiler, astroidler ve meteorlardan meydana gelen hacimli ve k\u00fctleli g\u00f6k cisimlerinin tamam\u0131d\u0131r.<br \/>\nKainat; uzay\u0131 i\u00e7ine alan s\u0131n\u0131rs\u0131z ve sonsuz mesafelere kadar uzanan, zaman boyutu ile birlikte d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclmesi gereken geometrik bir sistem olarak kabul edilmektedir.<br \/>\nD\u00fcnya ve di\u011fer b\u00fct\u00fcn g\u00f6k cisimlerinin de i\u00e7inde yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 sonsuz olarak kabul edilen bo\u015flu\u011fa Uzay (evren) denir. Uzayda yery\u00fcz\u00fcndeki kanun ve prensipler b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde de\u011fi\u015fir. Uzaydaki uzunluklar uzaya has bir \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fc birimi olan \u0131\u015f\u0131k y\u0131l\u0131 ile \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcl\u00fcr. I\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n bir y\u0131lda ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 yola \u0131\u015f\u0131k y\u0131l\u0131 denir. I\u015f\u0131k saniyede 300 000 km, y\u0131lda yakla\u015f\u0131k 100 milyar km yol al\u0131r.<br \/>\nUzayda g\u00f6k cisimleri hen\u00fcz ilmin tam olarak a\u00e7\u0131klayamad\u0131\u011f\u0131 d\u00fczenli ve uyumlu sistemler olu\u015ftururlar. Uzayda say\u0131s\u0131 ve \u00f6zellikleri tam olarak bilinmeyen milyarlarca g\u00f6k cismi bulunmaktad\u0131r.<br \/>\n\u0130\u00e7inde milyonlarca g\u00f6k cismini bulunduran g\u00f6k sistemlerine galaksi denir. Uzayda yakla\u015f\u0131k 100 milyar galaksi oldu\u011fu tahmin edilmektedir. Her galakside ortalama 100 milyar galaksiden olu\u015fmaktad\u0131r. G\u00fcne\u015f sisteminin de i\u00e7inde oldu\u011fu Samanyolu galaksisi yakla\u015f\u0131k 200 milyar y\u0131ld\u0131zdan olu\u015fur. Samanyolu galaksisinin geni\u015fli\u011fi yakla\u015f\u0131k 100 000 \u0131\u015f\u0131k y\u0131l\u0131 kadard\u0131r.<br \/>\nK\u0131zg\u0131n gazlardan olu\u015fan ve \u00e7evresine \u0131s\u0131 ve \u0131\u015f\u0131k yayan g\u00f6k cisimlerine y\u0131ld\u0131z denir.<br \/>\nKendileri \u0131s\u0131 ve \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 kendisi \u00fcretmeyen ancak G\u00fcne\u015f\u2019ten ald\u0131klar\u0131 enerjiyi \u00e7evresine yayan so\u011fuyup kat\u0131la\u015fm\u0131\u015f g\u00f6k cisimlerine gezegen denir.<br \/>\nGezegenlerin \u00e7ekim etkisinde kalarak onlar\u0131n \u00e7evresinde d\u00f6nen, G\u00fcne\u015f&#8217;ten ald\u0131klar\u0131 \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 yans\u0131tan, ba\u011fl\u0131 olduklar\u0131 gezegenlerden daha k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck olan g\u00f6k cisimlerine uydu denir.<br \/>\nBinlerce g\u00f6kta\u015f\u0131n\u0131n bir araya gelmesiyle olu\u015fan ve G\u00fcne\u015f&#8217;ten ald\u0131klar\u0131 \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 yans\u0131tan g\u00f6k cisimlerine kuyruklu y\u0131ld\u0131z denir. Kendileri \u0131s\u0131 ve \u0131\u015f\u0131k \u00fcretmediklerinden y\u0131ld\u0131z de\u011fillerdir. G\u00fcne\u015fin yak\u0131n\u0131na gelmedik\u00e7e g\u00f6r\u00fclmezler. En \u00e7ok tan\u0131nan\u0131 Halley Kuyruklu Y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131d\u0131r. G\u00fcne\u015f \u00e7evresindeki bir turunu 76 y\u0131lda tamamlar.<br \/>\nUzayda ba\u015f\u0131bo\u015f gezen g\u00f6k ta\u015flar\u0131na meteor denir. Bunlar\u0131n belli bir y\u00f6r\u00fcngesi yoktur. Bulutsuz bir gecede g\u00f6ky\u00fcz\u00fcne bak\u0131l\u0131rsa, sanki bir y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131n kopup d\u00fc\u015fmesi gibi par\u0131lt\u0131l\u0131 bir yol \u00e7izerek d\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc\u011f\u00fc g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr. D\u00fcnya atmosferine giren meteorlar saatte binlerce kilometrelik h\u0131zlar\u0131 nedeniyle atmosfer i\u00e7erisinde s\u00fcrt\u00fcnme etkisiyle s\u0131cakl\u0131klar\u0131 2000 \u00b0C\u2019ye yakla\u015f\u0131r b\u00f6ylece yanarak par\u00e7alan\u0131rlar. \u00c7ok az\u0131 yere kadar ula\u015f\u0131r.
