H\u00fccreleraras\u0131 aral\u0131k olduk\u00e7a dard\u0131r. \u00dcst y\u00fczeyleri ile v\u00fccudun bir i\u00e7 bo\u015flu\u011funa ya da d\u0131\u015f y\u00fczeyine bakarlar. Alt y\u00fcz\u00fc ile bazal lamina ad\u0131 verilen bir yap\u0131 arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 ile ba\u011fdokusu \u00fczerine otururlar. \u00d6rt\u00fc epiteli damars\u0131z bir doku olup, \u00fczerine oturdu\u011fu ba\u011fdokusu i\u00e7indeki damarlardan bazal lamina arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla, dif\u00fczyon yoluyla beslenir. B\u00f6ylece bir d\u0131\u015fa bakan y\u00fcz\u00fc bir de bazal laminaya oturan kar\u015f\u0131 y\u00fcz\u00fc ile bu dokunun h\u00fccrelerinde bir kutupla\u015fma s\u00f6z konusudur. Epitel h\u00fccrelerinin fonksiyonlar\u0131n\u0131 ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdikleri serbest \u00fcst y\u00fczeylerine apikal y\u00fcz ya da apikal kutup ad\u0131 verilir. Beslenmesinin sa\u011fland\u0131\u011f\u0131 ba\u011f dokusu \u00fczerine oturdu\u011fu y\u00fczeylerine ise bazal y\u00fcz ya da bazal kutup ad\u0131 verilir. B\u00fct\u00fcn \u00f6rt\u00fc epiteli t\u00fcrleri, hatta d\u0131\u015f salg\u0131 bezi h\u00fccreleri bir bazal lamina \u00fczerine oturur. Bazal lamina kesitlerinde \u00f6zel tekniklerle ince bir \u00e7izgi \u015feklinde beliren tabakad\u0131r. \u0130ki katman olarak g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr. Bir \u00f6rt\u00fc ve koruma g\u00f6revi sa\u011flayan bu h\u00fccrelerin kolayca da\u011f\u0131lmalar\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6nleyen bu yap\u0131lar h\u00fccrelerin birbirleri ile s\u0131k\u0131ca ba\u011flant\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flayan \u00f6zellikler ta\u015f\u0131r. \u00d6rt\u00fc epitel h\u00fccrelerinin birbiriyle yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 ba\u011flant\u0131larda \u00fc\u00e7 t\u00fcr yap\u0131 \u00f6zelli\u011fi oldu\u011fu elektron mikroskop bulgular\u0131 ile ortaya konmu\u015ftur. Zonula occludens, zonula adherens ve makula adherens (desmozomlar) adlar\u0131n\u0131 al\u0131rlar. Zonula okludens ya da terminal bar olarak da adland\u0131r\u0131lan ba\u011flant\u0131 t\u00fcr\u00fcnde kom\u015fu iki h\u00fccrenin membranlar\u0131n\u0131n d\u0131\u015f yapraklar\u0131 birbirine kaynam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Aradaki intersell\u00fcler aral\u0131k kaybolmu\u015ftur. Buradan madde ge\u00e7i\u015fi s\u00f6z konusu de\u011fildir. Birle\u015ftirici kompleks denilen bu yap\u0131lar \u00f6rt\u00fc epiteli h\u00fccrelerini kohezyonla bir arada tutar, epitel yap\u0131sal b\u00fct\u00fcnl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc korur.
