T\u00fcrk edebiyat gelene\u011fi i\u00e7inde &#8220;destan&#8221; terimi birden fazla naz\u0131m \u015fekli ve t\u00fcr\u00fc i\u00e7in kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015f ve kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Eski T\u00fcrk Edebiyat\u0131 naz\u0131m \u015fekillerinden mesnevilerin bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc ve manzum hik\u00e2yeler, Anonim edebiyatta ve \u00c2\u015f\u0131k edebiyat\u0131nda ko\u015fma veya m\u00e2ni d\u00f6rtl\u00fckleri ile yaz\u0131lan veya s\u00f6ylenen ferd\u00ee, sosyal,tarihi, ac\u0131kl\u0131 veya g\u00fcl\u00fcn\u00e7 olaylar\u0131 tahkiye tekni\u011fi ile \u00e7e\u015fitli usl\u00fbplarla aktaran naz\u0131m t\u00fcr\u00fcne ve bu yaz\u0131da ele al\u0131nan k\u00e2inat\u0131n, insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n, milletlerin yarad\u0131l\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131 , geli\u015fimini, hayatta kalma m\u00fccadelelerini ve \u00e7e\u015fitli olay ve nesnelerle ilgili sebeb a\u00e7\u0131klayan ve Bat\u0131 Edebiyat\u0131nda &#8220;epope&#8221; terimiyle an\u0131lan eserlerin tamam\u0131 da T\u00fcrk edebiyat\u0131 gelene\u011fi i\u00e7inde &#8220;destan&#8221; ad\u0131 ile an\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. B\u00fct\u00fcn d\u00fcnya edebiyatlar\u0131n\u0131n ba\u015flang\u0131\u00e7 eserleri olan destanlar, \u00e7e\u015fitli konularda yarad\u0131l\u0131\u015f hik\u00e2yeleri yan\u0131nda, milletlerin hayat\u0131nda b\u00fcy\u00fck yank\u0131lar uyand\u0131rm\u0131\u015f bir kahraman\u0131n veya tarih olay\u0131n\u0131n millet muhayyilesinde ortak sembol ve ifadelerle zenginle\u015ftirilmi\u015f uzun manzum hikayeleridir. Destanlar b\u00fct\u00fcn bir milletin ortak m\u00fccadelesini ortak de\u011ferler, kurallar, anlamlar b\u00fct\u00fcnl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc i\u00e7inde yorumlad\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve ya\u015fat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 toplumun ge\u00e7mi\u015fini ve gelece\u011fini temsil etti\u011fi i\u00e7in d\u00fcnya edebiyat\u0131n\u0131n en \u00fclk\u00fcc\u00fc eserleri olarak kabul edilirler. Destanlar her zaman tarih\u00ee ger\u00e7ekleri do\u011fru bi\u00e7imde nakletmezler. Destanlarda tarihi olay ve kahramanlar milletin ortak bilin\u00e7alt\u0131n\u0131n, vicdan\u0131n\u0131n istek, beklenti ,do\u011frular\u0131 ve de\u011ferleri ile idealle\u015ftirilir, eski hat\u0131ralarla birle\u015ftirilerek tarih\u00ee ger\u00e7ekmi\u015f gibi anlat\u0131l\u0131rlar.Her milletin mill\u00ee kimlik ve nitelikleri, ortak d\u00fcnya g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f\u00fc , hat\u0131ra ve beklentileri yan\u0131nda kusurlar\u0131 ve yanl\u0131\u015flar\u0131 da destanlar\u0131na yans\u0131r. Cihangirlik tutkusu, kuvvet, binicilik ve sava\u015fc\u0131l\u0131k yan\u0131nda verdi\u011fi s\u00f6zde durma , acizlere ve ma\u011fluplara ho\u015fg\u00f6r\u00fc ile yakla\u015fma, yard\u0131mc\u0131 olma T\u00fcrk destanlar\u0131nda dile getirilen ortak de\u011fer ve kabullerdir. T\u00fcrk destanlar\u0131,k\u00e2inat\u0131n, insan\u0131n, kad\u0131n\u0131n ve erke\u011fin yarad\u0131l\u0131\u015f\u0131, T\u00fcrk milletinin do\u011fu\u015fu, \u00e7e\u015fitli T\u00fcrk devletlerinin kurulu\u015f geli\u015fme, \u00e7\u00f6k\u00fc\u015fleri, zafer ve yenilgileri gibi konularla beraber pek \u00e7ok sebeb a\u00e7\u0131klay\u0131c\u0131 efsaneyi de i\u00e7inde bar\u0131nd\u0131r\u0131r. ilk \u00f6rneklerinin manzum oldu\u011fu kabul edilen T\u00fcrk destanlar\u0131ndan K\u0131rg\u0131z T\u00fcrkleri aras\u0131nda ya\u015fayan Manas destan\u0131 d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda b\u00fct\u00fcn\u00fcyle g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze gelebilen \u00f6rnek bulunmamaktad\u0131r.Di\u011fer T\u00fcrk destanlar\u0131 \u00e7e\u015fitli kaynaklarda \u00f6zet, epizot, hat\u0131ra, k\u0131salt\u0131lm\u0131\u015f se\u00e7me metinler halinde bulunmaktad\u0131r.<br \/>\nT\u00fcrk tarihine anahatlar\u0131yla bak\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda T\u00fcrk hayat\u0131 fetihlerle ba\u015flam\u0131\u015f ve yeni topraklar\u0131 yurt edinerek geli\u015fmi\u015ftir. ilk anayurt olan Orta Asya hi\u00e7 bir zaman terkedilmemi\u015ftir. T\u00fcrk halklar\u0131 ilk anayurt olan Orta Asya&#8217;dan itibaren d\u00fcnya co\u011frafyas\u0131 \u00fczerinde geni\u015f alana yay\u0131lm\u0131\u015f ve bug\u00fcn yedi T\u00fcrk cumhuriyetinde, pek \u00e7ok \u00f6zerk toplulukda ve \u00e7e\u015fitli devletlerin idaresinde az\u0131nl\u0131k halinde ya\u015famaktad\u0131r. T\u00fcrk k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fc de tarih ve co\u011frafyadaki \u00e7ok boyutlulu\u011fa paralel olarak \u00e7e\u015fitlenmi\u015f farkl\u0131 seviye ve birikimlerle zenginle\u015ferek ve farkl\u0131la\u015farak ancak ilk kaynaktan gelen ortakl\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 s\u00fcrd\u00fcrerek g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze ula\u015fm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu sebeble T\u00fcrk destanlar\u0131 da tarih\u00ee ve co\u011fraf\u00ee \u00e7ok boyutlulu\u011fun getirdi\u011fi dil ve k\u00fclt\u00fcr dairelerine paralel olarak \u00e7e\u015fitlenmi\u015ftir. Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen bu u\u00e7suz bucaks\u0131z d\u00fcnyada durmadan u\u00e7uyordu. G\u00f6klerden gelen bir ses Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen&#8217;e denizden \u00e7\u0131kan ta\u015f\u0131 tutmas\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yledi. G\u00f6\u011f\u00fcn emri ile oturacak yer bulan Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen art\u0131k yaratma zaman\u0131 geldi diye d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek \u015f\u00f6yle dedi :<br \/>\nBir d\u00fcnya istiyorum, bir soyla yaratay\u0131mBu d\u00fcnya nas\u0131l olsun, ne boyla yaratay\u0131mBunun \u00e7aresi nedir, ne yolla yaratay\u0131m\u015fSu i\u00e7inde ya\u015fayan Ak Ana,su y\u00fcz\u00fcnde g\u00f6r\u00fcnd\u00fc ve Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen&#8217;e \u015f\u00f6yle dedi :Yaratmak istiyorsan \u00dclgen, Yarat\u0131c\u0131 olarak \u015fu kutsal s\u00f6z\u00fc \u00f6\u011fren e ki hep,&#8221; yapt\u0131m oldu &#8221; ba\u015fka bir \u015fey s\u00f6yleme.Hele yarat\u0131r iken,&#8221;yapt\u0131m olmad\u0131&#8221; deme.Ak Ana bunlar\u0131 s\u00f6yledi ve kayboldu. Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen&#8217;in kula\u011f\u0131ndan bu buyruk hi\u00e7 gitmedi . insana da bu \u00f6\u011f\u00fcd\u00fc iletmekten b\u0131kmad\u0131 : &#8221; Dinleyin ey insanlar, var\u0131 yok demeyin. Varl\u0131\u011fa yok deyip de, yok olup da gitmeyiniz.&#8221; Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen yere bakarak : &#8221; Yarat\u0131ls\u0131n yer!&#8221; G\u00f6\u011fe bakarak &#8220;Yarat\u0131ls\u0131n G\u00f6k!&#8221; Bu buyruklar verilince yer ve g\u00f6k yarat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f. Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen \u00e7ok b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00fc\u00e7 bal\u0131k yaratm\u0131\u015f ve d\u00fcnya bu bal\u0131klar\u0131n \u00fczerine konmu\u015f. B\u00f6ylece d\u00fcnya gezer olmam\u0131\u015f bir yerde sabit olmu\u015f.Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen bal\u0131klar\u0131n k\u0131m\u0131ldad\u0131klar\u0131nda d\u00fcnyaya su kaplamas\u0131n diye Mand\u0131 \u015fire&#8217;ye bal\u0131klar\u0131 denetleme g\u00f6revi vermi\u015f. Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen, d\u00fcnyay\u0131 yaratt\u0131ktan sonra tepesi aya g\u00fcne\u015fe de\u011fen etekleri d\u00fcnyaya de\u011fme\u011fen b\u00fcy\u00fck Alt\u0131n Da\u011f\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131na ge\u00e7ip oturmu\u015f.D\u00fcnya alt\u0131 g\u00fcnde yarat\u0131lm\u0131\u015fd\u0131, yedinci g\u00fcnde ise Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen uyumu\u015f kalm\u0131\u015fd\u0131. Uyand\u0131\u011f\u0131nda neler yaratt\u0131m diye bakt\u0131: Ayla g\u00fcne\u015fden ba\u015fka fazladan dokuz d\u00fcnya birer cehennem ile bir de yer yaratm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. G\u00fcnlerden bir g\u00fcn Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen denizde y\u00fczen bir toprak par\u00e7ac\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00fczerinde bir par\u00e7a kil g\u00f6rd\u00fc&#8221; insano\u011flu bu olsun, insana olsun baba.&#8221; dedi ve toprak \u00fcst\u00fcndeki kil birden insan oldu. Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen bu ilk insana &#8220;Erlik&#8221; ad\u0131n\u0131 verdi ve onu karde\u015fi kabul etti. Ancak Erlik&#8217;in y\u00fcre\u011fi k\u0131skan\u00e7l\u0131k ve h\u0131rsla doluydu. Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen gibi g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc ve yarat\u0131c\u0131 olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00f6fkelendi.<br \/>\nTanr\u0131 \u00dclgen, kemikleri kam\u0131\u015ftan, etleri topraktan yedi insan yaratt\u0131. Erlik&#8217;in yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131 d\u00fcnyaya zarar verece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek insan\u0131 korumak \u00fczere Mand\u0131\u015fire adl\u0131 bir kahraman yaratt\u0131ktan sonra yedi insan\u0131n kulaklar\u0131ndan \u00fcfleyerek can, burunlar\u0131ndan \u00fcfleyerek ba\u015flar\u0131na ak\u0131l verdi.Tanr\u0131 \u00dclgen insanlar\u0131 idare etmek \u00fczere May-Tere&#8217;yi yaratt\u0131 ve onu insano\u011flunun ba\u015f\u0131na han yapt\u0131. Yakut&#8217;lardan (Saka) derlenen yarad\u0131l\u0131\u015f efsaneleri de Altay yard\u0131l\u0131\u015f destan\u0131n\u0131n yak\u0131n varyant\u0131 niteli\u011findedir . XIX.y\u00fczy\u0131l&#8217;da derlenen bu efsanelerin \u00e7e\u015fitli din ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrlerin etkilerini ta\u015f\u0131d\u0131klar\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclmektedir.<br \/>\nAlp Er Tunga<br \/>\nSakalar d\u00f6nemine \u00e2it Alp Er Tunga ve \u015fu olmak \u00fczere iki destan tesbit edilmi\u015ftir. Alp Er Tunga, M.\u00d6. VII. y\u00fczy\u0131lda ya\u015fam\u0131\u015f kahraman ve \u00e7ok sevilen bir Saka h\u00fck\u00fcmdar\u0131d\u0131r. Alp Er Tunga Orta Asya&#8217;daki b\u00fct\u00fcn T\u00fcrk boylar\u0131n\u0131 birle\u015ftirerek h\u00e2kimiyeti alt\u0131na alm\u0131\u015f daha sonra Kafkaslar\u0131 a\u015farak Anadolu Suriye ve M\u0131s\u0131r&#8217;\u0131 fethetmi\u015f ve Saka devletini kurmu\u015ftur. Alp Er Tunga&#8217;n\u0131n hayat\u0131 sava\u015flarla ge\u00e7mi\u015ftir. Uzun s\u00fcre m\u00fccadele etti\u011fi iranl\u0131 Medlerin h\u00fck\u00fcmdar\u0131 Keyhusrev &#8216;in davetinde hile ile \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. Alp Er Tunga ile iranl\u0131 Med h\u00fck\u00fcmdarlar\u0131 aras\u0131ndaki bu m\u00fccadelelerin hat\u0131ralar\u0131 uzun as\u0131rlar hem T\u00fcrkler hem iranl\u0131lar aras\u0131nda ya\u015fat\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Alp Er Tunga, Asur kaynaklar\u0131nda Maduva, Heredot&#8217;ta Madyes, iran ve isl\u00e2m kaynaklar\u0131nda Efrasyab adlar\u0131yla an\u0131lmaktad\u0131r.<br \/>\nOrhun Yaz\u0131tlar\u0131nda &#8220;Dokuz O\u011fuzlar&#8221; aras\u0131nda &#8220;Er Tunga&#8221; ad\u0131na yap\u0131lan &#8220;yu\u011f&#8221; merasiminden s\u00f6z edilmektedir. Turfan \u015fehrinin bat\u0131s\u0131nda bulunan &#8220;Bezegelik&#8221; mabedinin duvar\u0131nda da Alp Er Tunga&#8217;n\u0131n kanl\u0131 resmi bulunmaktad\u0131r. &#8220;Divan \u00fc L\u00fcgat-it T\u00fcrk&#8221; \u00fcn yazar\u0131 Ka\u015fgarl\u0131 Mahmud&#8217;a ve &#8221; Kutadgu Bilig&#8221; yazar\u0131 Yusuf Has Hacip&#8217;e g\u00f6re &#8220;Alp Er Tunga&#8221; iran destan\u0131 &#8220;\u015fehname&#8221; deki b\u00fcy\u00fck ve efsanev\u00ee Turan h\u00fck\u00fcmdar\u0131 &#8220;Efrasiyab&#8221;d\u0131r. Divan \u00fc L\u00fbgat-it T\u00fcrk&#8217;de Turan h\u00fck\u00fcmdarl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n merkezi olarak &#8220;Ka\u015fgar&#8221; \u015fehri g\u00f6sterilmektedir. isl\u00e2miyeti kabul etmi\u015f olan Karahanl\u0131 devleti h\u00fck\u00fcmdarlar\u0131 da kendilerinin &#8220;Efrasyap&#8221; s\u00fclalesinden geldiklerine inanm\u0131\u015flar ve bunu ifade etmi\u015flerdir. Mo\u011fol tarih\u00e7isi C\u00fcveyni de Uygur devletinin h\u00fck\u00fcmdarlar\u0131n\u0131n da Efrasyap soyundan oldu\u011funu yazmaktad\u0131r. \u015fecere-i Terakime&#8217;ye g\u00f6re Sel\u00e7uklu Sultanlar\u0131 kendilerini Efrasyab soyundan kabul ederlerdi. Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyetler Birli\u011f\u0131inin da\u011f\u0131lmas\u0131ndan sonra ileti\u015fim kurmak imk\u00e2n\u0131 buldu\u011fumuz ve Ruslar\u0131n Yakut ad\u0131n\u0131 verdi\u011fi T\u00fcrk gurup asl\u0131nda kendilerine Saka dediklerini s\u00f6ylemi\u015flerdir. Tarih i\u00e7inde kayboldu\u011funu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm\u00fcz Saka T\u00fcrklerinin az da olsa bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fcn bug\u00fcn hayatiyetlerini s\u00fcrd\u00fcrmeleri pek \u00e7ok meselenin yeniden ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131larak do\u011frular\u0131n ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131na yard\u0131mc\u0131 olabilecektir.Tarih\u00e7i Mesud\u00ee de M.S. 7. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131ndaki K\u00f6kt\u00fcrk hakan\u0131n\u0131n &#8220;Efrasyab&#8221; soyundan oldu\u011funu yazmaktad\u0131r. B\u00fct\u00fcn bu bilgilerden hareketle &#8220;Tunga Alp&#8221; le ilgili efsanelerin K\u00f6k T\u00fcrklerden \u00f6nce do\u011fu ve orta Tiyan\u015fan alan\u0131nda ya\u015fayan T\u00fcrkler aras\u0131nda meydana geldi\u011fini ve bu destan\u0131n daha sonralar\u0131 K\u00f6k T\u00fcrk ve Uygurlar aras\u0131nda ya\u015fayarak devam etti\u011fini g\u00f6stermektedir.Alp Er Tunga destan\u0131n\u0131n metni bu g\u00fcne ula\u015famam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu T\u00fcrk beyleri aras\u0131nda ad\u0131 me\u015fhur ikbali a\u00e7\u0131k olan\u0131 Tonga Alp Er idi. O y\u00fcksek bilgiye ve \u00e7ok faziletlere sahip idi. As\u0131l destan, VIII. y\u00fczy\u0131lda, Emev\u00ee&#8217;lerin h\u0131r\u0131st\u0131yanlarla yapt\u0131klar\u0131 sava\u015flarda b\u00fcy\u00fck kahramanl\u0131klar g\u00f6stermi\u015f Abdullah isimli bir ki\u015fiyle ilgili olarak do\u011fmu\u015ftur. Battal arap\u00e7a kahraman demektir, Battal G\u00e2zi, Arap kahraman\u0131na verilen unvanlard\u0131r.
